The Little Train

In Spring 2025, I composed music for the absolute highlight-project of my time at DigiPen—a short film written, animated, and produced by the talented Angel Wang for her MFA thesis. The film explores narrative development through environmental storytelling and features an  original score recorded at Cinemagic Scoring out of South Africa. Through the project, I:

  • Honed my skills as an orchestral composer:

    • Storytelling, mockups, score prep, etc.

  • Successfully secured funding through DigiPen for remote recording

  • Cut, mixed, and mastered the delivered stems in PT/Reaper

  • Supplied home video of piano overdubs to edit into the live-version

Special thanks to all of the music faculty at DigiPen for their support and advice through the process; to Mark Henne, Program Director of the DigiPen MFA program for his support and willingness to fund the score; to all the great people at Cinemagic who were princes to work with; and to my lovely girlfriend Wanhua for helping film the piano bits.
